Etrigan the Demon Bedevils Doctor Strange by Drew Rausch

I had been following Drew’s work for about a year and had had him on my “artists to commission someday” list for a while without knowing what to ask him to draw. Then one day he posted a Dr. Strange drawing on his blog and inspiration hit me. I’ve thought often about getting some pieces of Jack Kirby’s Demon character meeting other supernatural characters but I already have a few other themes going on so I don’t know if I’ll ever start this one. But maybe I just did. Anyway, Drew’s Stephen Strange is quirky-looking, which I really like. He looks a little crazy and actually strange, which he should. Drew’s Etrigan looks powerful and mischievous, which is how I prefer him most of the time. Anyway, I really love this piece and my hat’s off to Drew.

As much as I like Etrigan, Kirby’s demon will go down to Ditko’s magician. Strange is just too powerful for Etrigan. Or, at least he usually is.

If you like this piece then go buy some physical or digital books featuring Drew’s work and/or commission him yourself.
