Laurel Kent and Kent Shakespeare by Drew Moss

Drew is yet another artist whose work I've been following online for a while. He was running a commissions sale and I knew that I wanted to take advantage of it. After spending some time thinking about exactly what I wanted him to draw, I decided to go with this "Meeting of the Kents" idea I had. In Superman/Batman # 80, Chris Roberson and Jesus Merino showed a possible future where Laurel Kent and Kent Shakespeare were the Superwoman and Superman of the 31st Century. I thought that this was a fantastic idea and would be a great way to bring them back into current continuity. Although both characters were featured in Legion of Superheroes and both supposedly descendants of Superman, they had never met before and I asked Drew to show them meeting and hint at who they would one day become. And he did an AWESOME job. I really dig the futuristic city and the faded effects on Laurel and Kent's future selves. Thanks again to Drew!

Wow, Travis, this is truly elegant. It has all the makings of a comic book cover without any of the trappings of being overly commercialized in its aesthetic. I honestly know nothing about these two characters, but after seeing Drew's thoughtful homage, I want to delve more into their world.
