DescriptionJohn Romita Jr. penciled and John Romita Sr. inked this STUNNING cover created for the 2006 Baltimore Comic Con 2006 program cover! This cover features the 4 Marvel characters that BOTH Father and son are most famous for drawing, as Dad CREATED the VERY first images for Wolverine and the PUNISHER in the early 1970s, as well as DD and Spider-Man being John Sr's first main titles he worked on in 1965-1966. And John Jr had extensive runs on ALL 4 of these heroes books during the 1980s-1990s up through the 2000s! Both Romita's working together is such a treat to behold! This image was featured as the cover, as well as on the title page, and again later in the issue. Signed by both Romitas in the image area, and signed and dated 2010 by JRJR again in the lower margin. Just a great cover! It fascinates me how from growing up in the 1970s as a kid with little money, I had to work on my paper route to have funds to buy all of the comics I loved as a kid. And growing older I was able to buy more expensive comics as I saved my money while in the U.S. Army at West Point from 1985-1989 and I was able to finally buy my very first pages of comic art in 1989 and it has been an unbelievable roller coaster ride ever since that point trying to find the Amazing Spiderman #1-297 pages and Spiderman strip art from 1-3-1977 to 11-9-1980 I love so dearly and covet!! |
