DescriptionCheck out this very nice PUBLISHED Card Art Pinup, which was penciled AND INKED by the great JOHN ROMITA SR! This Pinup features a nice large image of Spider-Man shooting his webs with his right hand, as he clenches his left fist, with a classic Romita drawn "THWIP!" drawn into the scene also! Art is drawn on 5.4 by 11 inch art board, with a 4 by 6 inch art image. Art is signed at the bottom in the art, and John Romita signed the art AGAIN below the drawing! The art AND published card are both attached to an 11 by 17 inch art board (As seen in scan) for a great presentation overall! Just a neat PUBLISHED Spidey piece! (Some of John Romita's 2 by 3 inch "penciled only" Sketchagraph cards from the 1998 card set are selling for over $1000 each these days, and those were MASS produced in the HUNDREDS! It fascinates me how from growing up in the 1970s as a kid with little money, I had to work on my paper route to have funds to buy all of the comics I loved as a kid. And growing older I was able to buy more expensive comics as I saved my money while in the U.S. Army at West Point from 1985-1989 and I was able to finally buy my very first pages of comic art in 1989 and it has been an unbelievable roller coaster ride ever since that point trying to find the Amazing Spiderman #1-297 pages and Spiderman strip art from 1-3-1977 to 11-9-1980 I love so dearly and covet!! |
