THE LONGER BIO:
Paul Rivoche is a Canadian illustrator, comic book artist, and animation background designer based in Toronto. His career began in the mid-1970s with contributions to the underground comic Andromeda and a Star Trek art portfolio, "Star Trek Universe," published in 1976, before graduating high school. Moving to Toronto in 1978, he joined Nelvana Animation as a key background designer for the cult-classic sci-fi feature Rock and Rule. Rivoche co-created the iconic comic character Mister X for Vortex Comics and has produced cover art and stories for Marvel and DC Comics, featuring characters like Superman, Batman, and Iron Man. His 294-page graphic novel The Forgotten Man (HarperCollins), a New York Times bestseller, earned Gold and Silver awards from the LA Society of Illustrators.
In animation, he designed backgrounds for acclaimed series like Batman Animated, Batman Beyond, Justice League, and the Oscar-nominated 2023 animated feature film ROBOT DREAMS. Rivoche’s versatile work spans advertising, storyboarding, and self-published graphic novels like 4Story, showcased on his website, rocketfiction.com, and Instagram @rocketfiction
