DescriptionAn arresting representation of the Dark Knight and Robin by visionary Frank Miller. A huge 20 x 30" on strathmore board. Talk about a lot of ink... very detailed, moody and beautifully finished. It's the mature work of a comic art master. It reminds me of Mobeius' line work a bit, too! I believe this is the first DK recent large size commission that Miller did, at my behest. Miller has certainly made his mark on the Dark Knight legend...I am very happy to own this.Social/Sharing |

Great piece! As cool as Robin's face looks I like the broken mask of Bats. Also always love how Miller Positions the feet.

Quite an interesting piece. It certainly cannot be evaluated on its own merits, as that would end up somewhere between Ackkk and Gahhhh. But when taken with Miller's entire career, it can be seen an artistic biographical/autobiographical statement on Miller's assessment of the world and where he, Bats and Carrie may fit in it. I actually quite like the piece, which puts it miles ahead of the horrendous Elektras we've seen. It's been hard livin' for both Frank and Bruce, but nobody wants to see what Ms. Natchois has been dragged through the last 20 years...

Love this! I think the "Moebius line" comes from Frank's Ronin days. One of my favorite periods for him, second only to his early Sin City stuff. Just trying to imagine what a 20 x 30 Miller piece looks like in person. Must be truly awe inspiring. Congrats on this stunning piece!

I particularly enjoy the Bat Stance/Crouch and swollen lips. Miller has put the Dark Knight through the ringer and back and this signifies his endurance and eternal nature with Carrie as a renewing force for him and us. Big Congrats, Rob!

Outstanding! So much personality in every square inch of this drawing. I especially like the poses, stares, and bruised lips.

I think this is fantastic! I'm a big fan of FM's work. All of it. Frank continually reinvents his artwork with each new project/era. While this would fit in well with his Ronin period I think it's also very vital today. I'm so glad that frank is creating art again and doing so in with reckless abandon, doing what he needs to get out to the world right now and not what people want him to do. That's the mark of a true artist.

He arranged Frank to do this for you or for the original owner to sell it to you?

Pure perfection! You´re right, it has a touch of Moebius and somehow a "brazilian" Rafael Grampa touch. But still a classic Miller! Brilliant.

What a wonderful piece. I know Frank's style has changed recently but the more I see it the more I like it. This is an incredibly special piece, thank you for sharing it.
