Welcome to my passion of over 35 years, collecting fine examples of comic art! I've been active in comic fandom since 1973, when I published several issues of my own dittoed crudzine, Comic Fandom Monthly at age 13...I quickly began to sell comics at the 1970s monthly Phil Seuling NYC comic shows ('Second Sunday'), and the HUGE annual ones too, which had a profound influence on me...artists like the Studio quartet and all the big talent from Marvel and DC who were at their peak appeared at the NY cons ...you'd regularly see talents like Neal Adams, Barry (not yet Windsor-)Smith, Jeff Jones, and pony tailed Kaluta doing drawings for fans... a fandom friend showed me some pro pen and ink drawings for publication in his real (i.e. photo offset) fanzine and I was hooked on comic art forever... at the time, Frazetta drawings were $50, (see the Frazetta gallery for a $50 example!) Smith Conan pages $35... I began to sell off my massive comic collection slowly and steadily to finance my passion: original art... And, although I love so many artists, and have enjoyed owning the art of (Neal) Adams... Bode... Crumb...Ditko... Foster... Kirby... Moebius...Wood.. Williamson... EC art...and others, I progressively (sadly) sold or traded away their art in order to (happily) contentrate and devote all my available resources to collecting the art of Frank Frazetta, George Herriman, Jeff Jones, Alex Raymond, Barry Windsor- Smith and Berni Wrightson ... I do, however, try to keep in perspective what can easily become all time consuming and an idol in my life... Jesus said, "...For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" Still, the arts in general provide the mind with rest from the troubles of the world, they lift up the spirit, and provide the soul with refreshment by the act of contemplating beauty... and so, without further delay, and with a little perspective, here is the art! Each gallery features one artist, and the last gallery is related and other artists. I'm ALWAYS interested in seeing and discussing art by these artists...if available and I'm interested in purchasing it, I can offer immediate payment...
