Description'Marsh Ambush' 2022 by Mark Schultz, approx. 11" x 17.5" image area, ink on Strathmore bristol. After many unsuccessful years of searching for the right Xenozoic Tales-themed piece from MS, we had mentally relegated it to the 'Aw, No!' section, which is short for 'Art We'll Never Own.' It therefore came as a VERY pleasant surprise when this piece popped up for sale just recently, and we were able to nab it. It has the key elements we wanted, namely a terrific depiction of Hannah and Dinosaur, as well as some truly beautiful work in the foreground area. You know you love art for art's sake when you shout things like 'Look how that grass is drawn!', and actually mean it.The transaction with MS was as smooth as could possibly be hoped for, which added nicely to the experience. The pencil version is in Carbon 4; at the time of writing this on June 2, 2022, this inked version is unpublished, 'though according to MS, it will appear in Carbon 5. Social/Sharing |

Great choice! Love the hair, face, figure, pose, and textures on the skin and clothes on Hannah, and Jack is wonderfully indicated as well. Wonderful design in the clouds, birds, foliage, frogs, dino, and everything else

The more I see Schultz' works the more I'm in awe of his inking technique. Congrats on this awesome piece!

Sweet!!! This is the final inked version of the pencil prelim I got from MArk back in 2018. Pretty much everything is the same except Hana's expression and JAck's gun. Before the gun was to Han's side now its right at her back. Love his inks! Congrats!!!!
