DescriptionBatman 617 page 11, from Chapter 10 of the Hush storyline. Jim Lee pencils, Scott Williams inks. 11.25" x 17" comic art bristol. We have collected comics and comic art to some extent virtually our whole lives, but, for the usual reasons, there have been occasional stretches of semi-hibernation. The Hush storyline came and went during one of those periods, and it wasn't until a few years later that we came across a tpb reprint and were immediately smitten. We ramped up our excitement about new comic art once again (though not so much the comics themselves) around 2009, too late to obtain a page firsthand. Our passion for artists such as David Finch, J Scott Campbell, Jay Anacleto and others took a leap forward with some wonderful acquisitions; unfortunately, a suitable Hush page with Catwoman, one of our most fervent hopes, failed to materialize. And in spite of the overall terrific quality of the art throughout the run, on close examination, we came up with a surprisingly short list of pages that we were truly stoked about owning. Recently, 2 of the pages we coveted came up for auction but went beyond what we could rationalize paying. Didn't expect to win this page either, but to our surprise, we did. Coupled with a perfect Mark Schultz Xenozoic piece also acquired in 2022, which we had long despaired of obtaining, the year turned out to be an artistic bonanza. An amazing bonus in admiring Hush artwork is the Unwrapped edition, scanned from the original pencils. Being able to compare that to the final inked version gives a much better appreciation of both the genius of JL's drawing, and the genuine magic SW brought to the finishes. As always, it's a reminder of just how crucial a good pairing of both processes is in creating great art. Social/Sharing |

This run, by this pairing was something extraordinary. To me, Catwoman was the highlight of the run. So, to have a page where she's in every panel is simply tremendous. Especially that top right one. Congrats on this stellar acquisition!
