DescriptionIt had been quite a while since I had purchased one of Ken’s fantastic pieces. As soon as I saw this piece that he created for Nanny Goat Gallery’s Good VS Evil show I loved it. At first I tried to talk myself out of purchasing it since I would need to use time payments but I decided to go for it. Always love his work but wouldn’t necessarily want to purchase all of them. This was definitely an exception so I’m glad I decided to pull the trigger. It was a pleasure dealing with Emily and Paul. Would enjoy purchasing from their gallery again sometime. After purchasing the piece I unexpectedly received an email from Ken thanking me for supporting his art again. It had been a number of years since I had purchased a piece but he remembered me. Always love supporting artists like Ken. He told me a little about the piece. Turns out the teddy bear pictured is his first teddy from when he was a baby who is creatively named Brownie and is still standing guard from his nightstand to this day. I love the subtlety of this piece and the eerie mood once you realize what is actually happening in the background. At first you simply see this beautiful lady sleeping peacefully with her teddy bear beside her. It isn’t until you look closer that you see what at first appeared to be wrinkles in the curtains are actually an apparition’s hands reaching out from the darkness. To me this piece just feels like a renaissance painting with the muted color palette and all of the textures on her bedding. Absolutely thrilled with this piece and so glad to decided to just go for it. An outstanding addition to my collection of Ken’s art. Size 16x20” on wood panel Social/Sharing |

A great calming mood with all the smooth textures for the fabrics that allow for a moment of relaxation. Keirns then brings a smile when we see the bear's facial expression.
