DescriptionThis is one of those strange commission requests that comes out of nowhere. I did this piece for my friend Cameron who orignally wanted a Juggernaut and Joker (Man, that one would have been fun too!) but decided to go with the Punisher instead. I couldn't decide who should be winning, and Cameron never said either, so I decided to have this one turn out a draw. Punisher has a fat lip, some wrapped up wounds, and some acid (flower) burns while the Joker shows signs with a black eye, bloody nose, and even a few teeth missing. Hell, he even has his tongue stuck through the hole where his bottom tooth was! (Kind of an homage to pro wrestler Mick Foley who stuck his tongue through a hole in his bottom lip during a wrestling match in the 90's.) Oh yeah, Punisher has a knife stuck in his shoulderas well! This one just looks like it was a pretty gruesome battle. Who wins? Who knows!Social/Sharing |

You couldn't decide who should be winning???? You’ve got to be fucking kidding me! The Punisher is a 4 or 5-year Vietnam vet with 40 years of vigilante combat experience fighting virtually about every known criminal organization there is. He knows marital arts such as Shorin-Ryu, Chin Na, Hwarangdo, Ninjutsu, and Nash Ryu Ju Jitsu. Fighting someone like “The Russian” was nearly a draw… but he can’t take on a laughing idiot???? Once again, someone (in this case an artist) that has no idea the history of someone like the Punisher and gets everything wrong about him… Who wins? Who knows!… Bullshit!Wow!... Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. The buyer of this piece never said if they wanted the Punisher to be winning or the Joker. I figured I'd take the politcally correct route and have it sort of split down the middle. I myself would have had the Joker winning. You may not agree, but he has handed it to Batman quite a few times, and take away all the weapons and I think Batman could hold his own against Mr. Castle here. These characters are fantasy and the situations we (as artists or fans) put them in are not meant to be so scrutinized. It's all in good fun. Besides, did you know that the Joker was trained in Too Wong Fu and Hong Kong Phooey?! Plus he's crazy... Sometimes you just can't kill crazy! Let's all lighten up and know that these characters are fun and not meant to be taken so seriously. There are too many true problems and bad guys in the world to worry about who would win in a fight between two fictional characters.
