Description

While not an Aparo Adventure Spectre Cover, it's the next best thing.

As a huge Spectre and Jim Aparo fan I was extremely lucky to be able to obtain a piece as fine as this one. Signed by Jim Aparo as well.

Cover date is Feb 1981 but as was standard then this issue was on sale Nov 1980. As for me, I obtained it as a kid in 1983 from the 4 for a $1 section of my then closest comic shop ("Cosmic Comics and Books" RIP).

You can really see Ditko's influence on Aparo's art here, especially on the face of the woman sitting in the chair. In some ways, it reminds me of his Charlton era art, before Neal Adam's became such a strong influence.

Not a lot of these out there. Aparo was truly at his best when he drew Spectre.

Wow! Another Jim Aparo classic! Thanks for posting. BTW - I hope DC adds this story-arc to any Spectre reprint "Essential" they may be planning.
