Description

Action packed early Oop from the estate of Ed Dodd (Mark Trail). Tanned to heck, as it hung in Ed's studio, a gift from Hamlin. Impossible to scan, as Dodd chopped and ensconced this in an old-timey frame, so this photo will have to do until I hire a conservationist to extract it.

I wonder if Dodd chopped it or if it was chopped for a reprint for reprinting in a comic book like a lot of Capt Easy Joe Palooka and Felix art I have owned over the years- a great Hamlin page nonetheless.

It's certainly possible, but all the other Alley Oop I've seen on the market has been intact. I've not done a deep dive on it, though.

In his later years Hamlin did cut up some originals for use in NCS related materials I own two of them - but they tend to be from strips later than the 1930s
