Description

When investigating sighting of a sea monster off the coast of Santa Barbara, Rick Flag mysteriously disappears into the ocean and is assumed to have been eaten by a previously unknown creature that would soon be classified as "The Kraken".

Once Rick disappears, the surviving Task Force X members are quick to subdue and capture the beast ... almost too easily.

The Kraken is taken to a local aquarium for further study. While visiting the site, Karin is overcome with grief over the loss of her secret love, Rick Flag.

However, it seems there is more to this creature and the disappearance of Rick Flag than it appears on the surface!

Spectacular work by Chris. I love the details here -- especially on Karin and the monster. Based on a House of Mystery cover by Neal Adams.
