DescriptionThe FATTIES are Back!Cam Kennedy on Judge Dredd. Nuff said. I'd love to know the history behind this unusual double page splash; I was surprised when I saw it in the comics back in 1985, and the panel is made up of two sheets, pasted on board, with lots of cutting and changing. Did artdroid Kennedy originally deliver something that Tharg was not happy with? Did the 'film poster' concept not work out? EDIT: In 2016 I had the piece conserved, much improved: compare to the yellowed original. What happened to the artwork is now much clearer. Cam prepared the image with a vertical spacing to the far left for the 'Judge Dredd' banner. Editorial decided to go with a movie poster design instead, and therefore sliced up and stretched Cam's image to remove the far left space, and located the Dredd banner horizontally to the top left instead. Anyone want to try and photoshop this bodged version into Cam's original for me? Size: 29" x 17" (74 x 43 cm) Paper, cut and pasted onto board Lettering: Tom Frame Social/Sharing |

Great page, Ben - I was very tempted to jump at this one; only the condition put me off, to be honest. Fantastic story with Cam on particularly fine form. If you dig up the back-story, give me a shout (or I can ask Cam and if he remembers anything, I'll let you know). Anyway, lovely stuff!

Anyway, lovely stuff!Yes, it's very yellowed and stiff; looks like it was in direct sunlight for some years. The ink is completely un-affected though; I just whacked down the tone on the photo, and hey presto, good as new on CAF! I'd love it if Cam could remember anything about it; those very Scottish faces and the stylisation of the clothing is Cam at his very best...

Fantastic double page spread and I entirely agree about all the Cam characters. This tale and especially Tony himself, had real humour and charm. Great to see it brought back to life with the conservation work too.
