I am not familiar with either of those artists, but that is one fantastic piece of investigative scholarship. Bravo. The original’s colours are so much better than the published version. And that composition is, umm, to die for. 

The artwork rocks, no doubt about that, but my great weakness is aged-brown title pastes up.  Makes the page aged-classic for me!!

The brown color scheme immediatley brought those paperback novelizations to mind.  Those wings are like stained glass that project that pattern upon the background.     

I think many, if not most, of us have paid a ridiculous “How much?!” price for what is essentially just a piece of paper or card with some pigment on it so you should not be too hard on yourself. As Felix has said on his comic art podcast on a number of occasions, we regret more acts of omission than acts of commission. When you see a full Posy strip, a thing of rare beauty, you have got to go for it. I am reminded of a line I read somewhere (and which I have quoted previously), “Long after you have forgotten the price you paid, you will be enjoying the beauty of your purchase”.

Wow, “Grail Alert” indeed. You do not see many full Posy strips in the wild and you wonder if she hangs onto them all (all but one, anyway). The sentiments expressed in this strip seem to be very 1981 – could you get away with them today, even in jest – and the supplementary pictures are incredible. I hope you do not have a lock-up with over forty years of old newspapers as they are a terrible fire hazard. Posy is supposed to be at this year's Thought Bubble and if I had not already done my one convention of the year then I would have ventured to that. Congrats on this acquisition and thank you for sharing this beautifully-written, beautifully-drawn, beautifully-lettered gem.

Wow! Art curator – impressive. Hmmm. Should I be spared, I am going to be uploading onto CAF a drawing at the end of next month which I would really value your opinion on. It should be right up your street – I won it on Heritage this year, it was un/misattributed, and it is, in my opinion and that of two non-CAF-member comic fans I know, by a British artist. It would not surprise me if you had thrown a couple of bids on it yourself as you seem to be able to identify a hidden gem. Sorry to be so “cloak and dagger” but I have not scanned it yet or written out my typically verbose description detailing what it means to me and my argument for why it is by who I think it is. Also, I might find the “smoking gun” to prove it is by who I think it is by 25 May. I said that Mark Cox had an eclectic taste in comics; he has nothing on you as, judging by your collection, your knowledge from Altergott to [E]Zquerra seems too be every bit as broad.

Well I might have been able to distinguish Bisley from O’Neill if I had seen a full page of comic art but to do it from two head sketches small enough to fit on a button/badge requires an expert’s eye, and you have the evidence to back it up, so hats off to you. I am glad you won the auction as you are obviously a squaxx dek Thargo. As for the Mark Cox query – at least you pointed me in the right direction by describing him as “Titan editor” because there are a lot of “Mark Cox”es out there on the internet, so for that florix grabundae.

That is excellent detective work to identify, from the verso, the true artist behind these headshots because they were attributed to someone else. I was one of the underbidders, way down the list, for this lot but mainly for the Ezquerra. Can you tell me anything about Mark Cox because he seems to have had (or has) a very eclectic taste in comic art? Is he the "American-based British print designer and art director" that comes up when you Google his name and do you know why he has sold so much of his OA?

You have this the wrong way round. Thers an infamous printed page he worked on where the eagle is on the wrong shoulder.

Well Fred is a member of Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes.  The Qanon Shaman was running to have a second term as Grand Poohbah, but due to the rigged system of letting millions of illegal mental asylum transgender surgeried rock quarry prisoners pouring into Bedrock voting, vice president Rubble had to be hung.

This is absolutely pricess! I remember reading this as a kid and not being impressed in the slightest. 

Is the scan itself the original photo that was taken / used for this panel?

Nice! Just got my Doofus bookplate sketch too. I've only seen one Henry Hotchkiss bookplate so far. 

What  truly wonderful curio ! An key part of the pleasure of being on CAF. 

This is just... incredible. The negative space used for the Dalek energy weapons is done SO nicely! The violets compliment the destruction showcased by the heavy inks perfectly.

Reminds of "Absolom Daak: Dalek Killer" (if you remember that!)
