DescriptionCover Prelim drawing by Rafael López Espí for the Spanish edition of SPIDER-MAN VOL.1 N°52, published by Vertice in January 1973. It is titled "The Smasher" and the content in USA corresponds to THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN VOL.1 #116 -117, THE CAT VOL.1 #4 (1st story) and THE X-MEN VOL.1 #157 (2nd story).It is extremely difficult to find a good Spider-man vol. 1 cover, but even more difficult is to find the original sketch of one of them, specifically of the cover that for me is the most special because with it I started my collection more than a quarter of a century ago. Es extremadamente difícil encontrar una buena portada de Spider-man vol. 1, pero más difícil aún es encontrar el boceto original de una de ellas, concretamente de la portada que para mí es la más especial porque con ella inicié mi colección hace más de un cuarto de siglo. An Espí cover prelim is rare for sure...like all collectors , the first piece always is special ! Still got mine...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Awesome! The hero gets overrun by the villain is a staple of all the classic Spider-Man covers! Having Spidey in trouble riles up the fan base!

Cuando era un niño ese tebeo lo llegue a leer muchas veces y por tal motivo tengo un buen recuerdo de esa portada de Espí.

How cool to find a prelim for a Spider-Man cover--Especially one with a prominent villain like the Smasher! Love this layout by Rafael López Espí with Spider-Man flipping head over heels after taking a blow from the Smasher! Spider-Man covers are real treats for collectors because the wall-crawler is so agile that artists can pose him in hundreds of different ways! How fun it must be to find one where he's actually upside-down! Fantastic pick-up, congrats!
