DescriptionI got this nice sketch from Rich Buckler in 1983 at the Chicago comicon. This is a large sketch on 14x17 paper. If I remember correctly they were just discontinuing the Deathlok book.Social/Sharing |

Very cool, Deathlok as far as I remember ended way before 83. The last I saw of him was in a issue or two by Byrne of Marvel 2 in 1. Where he actually shot the Thing in his arm & cut him with his laser pistol. Before that in Astonishing Tales of course for about 10-12 issues & one issue of Marvel Team Up.Then in the 90's the new mini-series.

I do remember Buckler saying he would be interested in doing a Deathlok book if they put one out. Thanks for setting the timeline straight, Michael.

We'll I'm sad to say I haven't owned those books since 1988 to my big egret. But I do have a pretty good memory on Deathlok. Because I used to love the character & Rich Buckler's art way back then.

Actually your memory isn't as bad as you think. Deathlok made an appearance in Marvel Fanfare #4 (a 1970's Michael Golden inventory story that was finally published in 1982) and in Cap #286-88 with art by Mike Zeck and John Beatty (published at the end of 1983)!
