Description

A few years back a friend of mine sent me a stack of comics in which he'd added a bonus: a copy of Teen Confessions 61 (April 1970), cover and story by José Luis Garcia-Lopez. I was floored. We'd talked at length of our mutual admiration of JLG-L but I had always thought his comics career started at DC. I had NO idea he'd been doing Charlton romances since the late 60's.

I won this page on eBay about a year ago.

I don't have a copy of the comic but the page has been identified by the very knowledgeable Greg Huneryager--Thanks very much!

It's from "Time for Love" #28 and needles to say, since this is Charlton, the art looks a lot better than it does in the comic. I have most of his Charlton work and showed Garcia-Lopez what I had collected at a Fallcon and he said he hadn't even seen all of them, wasn't sure if they were all printed. Even back then he was great at drawing the female face. Congrats.

I can't tell you hw much I love this, great drawing, wonderful storyteling and poses, It's everything I love about Jose's work. I own a page from this myself and am always looking for more, but sadly his Charlton work just does not seem to be around at all.
