Alex TOTH; Bravo for Adventure cover
"The Thirties: Time of world depression, war, displacement and hunger - but also of hope and promise for the future in the hearts and minds of all mankind. Too, a time of renaissance in art, science and cultures and a Golden Age for aviation and motion pictures.

Pilot-adventurers of all kinds sought challenge, action, romance, travel and danger throughout the world, fighting in real wars of revolution or the mock wars staged for the cameras of movie studios, where only the best stunt pilots survived the daily risks just to make it all look more real.

Among them an ex-navy pilot from Nevada and Alaska who invested hard-earned stunt pay in an airplane and an air charter service of his own, by which he sought to find an even broader horizon for high adventure between picture assignments - his name - Jesse Bravo!"

-Alex Toth (1984, from an updated intro page)
