DescriptionMy wife loved this piece so much, she recently gave me the green light to buy it. After collecting all these years, I have finally reached a milestone in my collection - a bronze-age HORROR Marvel Title Splash page! Gene Colan and Tom Palmer were such a classic combo and their genius certainly shines through on this little number! The title alone throws me back to those golden days of EC comics - "RETURN FROM THE GRAVE!" The exquisite, fine detail is amazing in person. What a KILLER opening sequence! A gorgeous babe never hurts either.Sadly, I never had the honor of technically meeting Colan though I did make several attempts back in 2005 during his last appearance at Heroes. Everytime I would get next in line, Colan would decide to take a break. It certainly was well derserved as he must have been in his eighties at the time. Later, I actually passed him and his wife, physically carrying each other down the block to the hotel. It was such a tender moment, I just couldn't bring myself to even ask to shake the guy's hand. That will always be the way I remember Gene. There will never be another Colan. Social/Sharing |

I'm not a big TOD fan, but that's one cool splash page. Nice to see a little outside of the box design work for a splash page too! Congrats!

Huge congrats on this macabre masterpiece! Nobody did it quite like Colan and Palmer.

Congrats on the Title Splash page! Colan's pencils are so delicately inked here, he and Tom are at the top of their game!

Classic Colan artwork! The portraits at the top are fantastic and the splash at the bottom is terrific as well! Love the inks on this also

Probably my favorite opening page from the entire series! Colan's mastery of facial expression really shines in her reaction shots in the top three panels.
