Description

Not since Joe Kubert has an artist flown over his pages with such immediacy and ruthlessness. If something doesn't work, it's whited out, redrawn, pasted over, or simply done all over again. The results? Just as satisfying as the master himself.

The additional image below proves my point. DWJ had a perfectly compelling bottom half of this page before he decided it didn't work quite as well as it could, completely redrawing three new panels.

His first major work. DWJ cared enough to seek perfection during these lean years of learning and improving his craft. It's one of the reasons Felix Comic Art would start out representing his art sales, as fans were assured to have his best in their hands.

Comparing DWJ to Kubert is a bold move (that I would never dare) but your know your stuff, obviously ;)

Fun page, DWJ certainly "knows" his Masamune Shirow ;)
