The Legion of Substitute Heroes by Nate Stockman and Simon Gough

Nate, like all good people, is a Legion of Superheroes fan. And, like me, he loves the Subs. So of course he was on my list of artists to get to do a Subs commission. And Nate went above and beyond on this piece! I love the Giffen-era lineup, the headquarters in the background, the vines growing everywhere and just the joyful mood of the characters. This is my favorite thing I've ever seen Nate draw and I'm so glad it's mine. Now, really, DC, put Nate on a Legion book, like maybe a Subs miniseries? Thanks again, Nate!

If you like this piece, then by all means go buy some of Nate's comics and/or commission him yourself.

This is brilliant, Travis! It brought a huge smile to my face. You can tell that this was a labor of love for Nate, and the results are full of magic. Congrats on a wonderful commission, my friend!

Excellent-I love the quiet strength of Stone Boy, the joy of Color Kid, the cockiness of Polar Boy, and everything about Night Girl.
