DescriptionMY ELATION IS UNCONTAINED! I love Charles Burns work, and I could not hope for a better example. I'm CooCoo for Coco Puffs over this! Thanks John CThis original was created for publication in Charles Burns' DEFECTIVE STORIES Limited Edition Portfolio printed in a limited edition of 300. This one is Plate 1 of 7 silk screened prints published by A.P.A.A.R. in 1990. The beautifully screen printed plates were housed in a screen-printed 11" x 14" folder, "each a variation on the men's magazine / detective story era, pulp style covers of the first half of the 20th century with imagery and characters from the world of the El Borbah stories." This is beautiful -- I love how definitive every line is. And the small details (the necktie, the abstract painting in the upper left) and all the repeated texture motifs. Congratulations on picking this up.

It's a twisted and creepy yet strangely amusing combination of artistic style and satire amid a mixture of pop cultural motifs.
