Chris Batista and John Dell did such a fantastic job with the first commission that they collaborated on for me, that I knew I'd have to get another one from them before too long. Chris is a Legion fan, so I thought that he would be perfect for one of these commissions featuring multiple versions of a single Legionnaire. I asked Chris to name some of his favorite Legionnaires, and after looking over those names, I chose Mr. Lar Gand himself for this Legion of Mon-Els commission. Chris and John did an incredible job here, showcasing each costume and featuring Mon-El's original outfit as the highlight of the group. I especially like how the Green Lantern Mon-El's ring energy is forming the background design. I also really love how they drew the sleeves on Mon-El's original costume and the different capes on each character. Huge thanks to Chris and John for again producing amazing work!

Mon-El is both one of the most powerful Legionnaires and one of the most interesting. He spent a thousand years in the Phantom Zone and somehow kept his sanity. He's as strong as Superman and at one point was a Green Lantern. He's been a member of both L.E.G.I.O.N. and the Legion of Super-Heroes, so he's had to put up with crap from two different Brainiacs, and yet he has somehow kept his sanity! You've gotta both admire and feel sorry for the guy. I've liked all of Mon-El's costumes over the years, but my favorite is his original outfit. His Green Lantern uniform is probably my second favorite, simply because I thought it looked really cool. But Mon-El is lucky to not have any truly horrible costume designs in his history, which is something that not every Legionnaire can claim.

Mon-El has always been a favorite Legionnaire. That said, looking at all the different versions here I seem to've missed more legion comics than I thought 'cause many I don't know at all :\

When I first glanced at this I thought it was an actual pin-up from a Legion book! This is just outstanding. Chris's pencils alone are a sight to see. Mon-El is in my top 5. You need an Ultra boy next!
