Description

Is there any better way to end the 2017 year than with two superb Batman pages by the great Don Newton? I think not!

Terrific Two-Face two-page sequence (loved writing that pun) original artwork from Detective Comics #513 pages 9-10 (DC, 1982) by the superbly talented Don Newton (pencils) and excellent finishes by Frank Chiaramonte (inks). This scene features Batman's arch-foe, Two-Face who has actually managed to capture the Capped Crusader with an intense dispute between the two adversaries. Two-Face tosses his infamous two-headed coin twice in this two-page sequence, which is really cool - a lot of twos interacting here. Page 10 includes Robin patrolling the dirty alleyways of Gotham City in the Batmobile, searching for his missing mentor and friend.

Don Newton's remarkable skills as a draftsman and storyteller are very evident in this sequence, clearing representing the fact that he is one of the finest talents to ever illustrate Batman.
