DescriptionCommissioned this sweet piece from Eric at the recent Dallas Comic Con. Eric has such unique design/compositional elements and when I think of his work I think of original movie poster art. We were talking about movies and discussed Ray Harryhausen’s (the creator of stop motion model animation) passing just the week prior. The original Clash of the Titans was one of my favorite movies as a kid and still is to this day – that Medusa scene is still pretty creepy. Eric said he really enjoyed the film as well and that’s where this commission came from. So I gave him an option of his take on the Gorgon Medusa or a Man with No Name/Wyatt Earp type character. After us talking about Clash of the Titans he was pretty excited about the Medusa idea. He ran out of time at the con but got it done shortly after – when I got it in the mail I was stoked (and glad he was able to spend a little more time on it at home). Hope ya’ll like!Social/Sharing |

So beautiful and so disturbing at same time, a modern Gorgon born from Eric's unique style: it makes me want to go back to those mythological stories!

This is beautiful, great story too. The weirder the idea, the harder Canete usually knocks the ball out of the park :)

Damn! This is freaking sweet! Clash of the Titans was one of my favorite movies as a kid too, and Eric killed this piece. Congrats!

Killer piece! Love the use of different snake species. I've always wanted a good Medusa. Tough to do her creepy and sexy at the same time. Eric pulled it off.
