Artist JP said when he was drawing this he had the music playing in the background :) Keeping the robot posting going with this OAX 2025 commission pick up. My first piece by JP Cuison aka Gigzilla, one of the Next Comic Art crew, with rep and all around nice dude, Jiggy! I gave JP a few options and was happy he went with this one, adding to my recent batch of commissions from some of my favorite non-comic properties. You can immediately see it’s the main jaeger, Gipsy Danger, but Cuison-sized. Got the cartoony animated look with those thick lines and bright colors. The yellow works to great effect on the figure as well as part of the full bleed background. “There are things you can’t fight, acts of God. You see a hurricane coming, you have to get out of the way. But when you’re in a Jaeger, suddenly, you can fight the hurricane. You can win.” Thanks, JP and Jiggy! Social/Sharing |

Pacific Rim is one of the best modern mech franchises and this blast of colors and design by JP do tribute to it quite nicely. the yellow sun and light streaks against the red sky is such a cool touch here. great piece dude!

Dude, this piece is like a combo of graffiti and tattoo art! Bold lines, popping colors, and just the right amount of animated energy. The yellow background makes it feel like it’s about to burst off the page. Nothing like channeling the music's vibe straight into the art!

The yellow and red pop here and JP did a great job of catching those colors in the armor. His style combined with his color choices create pieces that look like no other artist out there.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I am completely blown away by the impact of this JP Cuison commission! Sure, I get that it's a nod to Pacific Rim, but the wild design and the intense colors are startling! Not your everyday CAF post, to be sure. Love the crazy design of the giant robot, with it's tiny Swimsuit Model-like waist and its massively bulked up shoulders and feet. But hey, the crazy-cool yellow sun with its lightning bolt-like sunbeams hits my eyeballs like a stun grenade! I may miss my guess, but I'm thinking JP Cuison may be the new Manix. Just saying.

Thanks, Bill! Love the observations...one of my fave things about CAF is reading things people see in my art that I didn't! And the JP/Manix connection...I can see what one, too, now that you mention it :)
