Description

When Veronica e-mailed me, I was totally thrilled. I asked for a 5x7 size piece featuring Dawn, the Goddess that Joseph Linsner created. I did want a more romantic, tender side of Dawn but I also let Veronica know that it was okay for her to be as creative as she wanted to be.

What she came up with is this 81/2 x 11 beauty. This piece is really special to me.
Done in mixed media, mounted on heavy cardstock which is also adorned with stems/thorns of a rose. A perfect backdrop. :)

*thank you so much, V-ron!*

At the risk of seeming too primitive, I just have to say WOW! This beauty is easily one of the very best Dawn tribute pieces I have ever seen. Her V-ron face is a new look for Dawn, but it works and I really like it. Major congrats hon!

What Tom said. The best interpretation of Dawn by someone other than JML.

Wow.. that truly is a compliment! With her unique style, I know that Veronica would be thrilled that her piece is thought of so highly. :)

Thanks, hon. :) I think that if I was to never get another commission from her, it would be okay because I truly can't think of anything that could equal how beautiful this is or the sentimentality behind it.

Love all the green! It's my favorite color, so of course I had to comment. But what really got my attention about this piece is the amazing job she did on the face. Always did like the "Veronica Lake" cascading of the hair, and in this case it just accentuates the strong qualities of the facial rendering. That eye, and those lips! Wow!

Veronica is a big fan of JML's Dawn.. and like you, green is my favourite colour so I had to mention it to her. ;) The rendering of her face is strong but I do think that the mood is captured beautifully. Thank you so much for commenting.. I appreciate all the comments that have been given for this piece. It truly means a lot. :)
