DescriptionPublished 1985 by WaRP Graphics'Look But You Better Not Touch' adapted by Phil Foglio from the novel 'Another fine Myth' written by Robert Lynn Asprin. The Myth Adventures series consists of over twenty novels and Another Fine Myth was the first book of the series published in 1978 by Starblaze Graphics. It tells the story of Skeeve, a magician's apprentice who must must apprentice himself to a demon, Aahz, after his mentor is killed. The pair embark on a series of misadventures and along the way, Skeeve acquires a pet dragon, Gleep, and joins up with Tanda, an assassin. On this page Tanda introduces herself to Skeeve. The original comic was printed in Black and White but later reprinted in color. I read the first dozen of the Myth novels and all of the comic adaptations and was happy to acquire this one example from the series. Social/Sharing |

I never read the comic series myself, but my friend and fellow art collector, Jason Hussa, swears by this series and absolutely loves it. I did always enjoy seeing it on the stands, as it was a nice, whimsical looking book to contrast all the other serious superhero fare on the stands at the time.

So
Skeeve says it's time Gleep goes
But mentor to be killed I know
She hopes Tanda be friends
I think
Yeah, I guess we can, Sale mine
But didn't think of pick up lines
He blocked elf eyes and drew the Asprin
With WaRP I've got yet to untie
What if I were Foglio in eighties
What if I was mischief, he knows Myth
Maybe she's just looking for
Aahz to dance with

Read the books first, then the comics. Great representative page from a series I remember fondly!

Fantastic page, Miki! Phil is one of my very favorite cartoonists and seeing a young Tim ink and interpret/translate/define some of the deliberately goofy exaggerations (facial features, head shapes) is always good fun (like the sweat on Skeeve's brow in panel 2, or Skeeve's hair in panel 5). A stunning Myth example, Miki! Skeeve! Tananda! Gleep! Even a Growf dragon! Serious congrats on the great pick up!

Had to swing past and give this one some more lovin'. Super cool, sugar sweet Foglio / Sale Myth goodness: a complete and utter delight! Congrats again on picking this one up!
