Description

Big fan of Matt Wagner's Grendel series. In the 90s Dark Horse Comics published small contained storied within their "Grendel Tales" books. These books focused on stories of Grendel outside of the main book series.

For this book, Matt was approached by Croatian creators Darko Macan(w) and Edvin Biuković(a) to team up and weave a tale. Watch and listen to Matt Wagner describe how it came to be at the 51 minute 18 second mark of this Comic Art Live video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kNDAgKA2MI

I was lucky to pick up these pieces from Mark Hay at SplashPageArt.com. He had had them in his catalog for multiple years and I just never prioritized the pages until the Biuković decided to reclaim all unsold pages from Mark in 2017.

Biuković unfortunately passed in 1999 of a brain tumor. For his short time in the industry he left an indelible mark on the community and has provided inspiration to Gerard Way and Goran Sud�uka.
