Description

Franklin Booth mainly employed pens, laying down very fine lines beside and atop one another to thicken them, creating shadow and nuance over the contours of a form. Bernie Wrightson would use much the same technique (albeit with a heavier emphasis on brush work) on his spectacular series of Frankenstein plates a half a century later.

Tom, this is stunning... Much like an engraving with such fine detail... It's easy to see the influence of this style in Wrightson's earlier Frankenstein pieces... Thanks for introducing me to yet another astounding artist...
