Descriptionmy Holy Grail of sketch. Frank Miller's The Dark Knight which I bought from a guy who was there when Miller were doing these. it has a whole very interesting story which I include here:Frank Miller did an in-store signing at Pegasus Comics, Beaverton, OR (owned by Dark Horse Publishing and Mike Richardson) in 1992 for the release of the Sin City Hardcover. I arrived at 6pm with an hour left in the appearance and not a single person was there. There was only Mike Richardson and his brother. Frank Miller wasn't even there. I had brought all my Miller books and a sketch pad for him to sign and a Newletter called Comic Investor's Insight featuring him that month. They told me he was down the street at Monty's Tavern killing time and that I ought to go and get him in case anyone else showed up. I found him and he did not want to leave and was perfectly happy there - so I bought him a drink. He asked to see my stack of books, the newsletter and my sketch pad and he went to work. One of the Batman profiles was really well done, and when the Richardson brothers saw it when we returned, they made copies of it to pass out to anyone that might show up in the next 30 minutes. No one did. So Frank started reworking them and modifying his drawings. 7pm rolled around and they left, and Frank handed me all the work he had done. This is one of the best. 8.5" x 11".
