DescriptionThis page from 'Behind the Curtain', the third episode of 'The Krool Heart', sees Danny describing his transcendental experience in the Pit of Pain. I'm particularly fond of this page because of the first panel, which showcases several characters (all deceased) not seen in quite some time in the series. Of special interest are Stitches and Joe Scummer, the two members of the original cast who received least on-panel time (and who both perished as a result of crossing the Golgotha Plains on Ararat.) Also worth pointing out is Thrax's groovy hand gesture: the idea of Thrax somehow at peace is impossible to contemplate with a straight face. The couple to the far left are Danny's parents. I am also intrigued by De Racine's 'Star of David' goblet - another religious motif for a page of divine revelations.Social/Sharing |
