Description

I am not sure that I can describe this commission with words more than the picture can do it justice. This was a commission that started at the 2010 NYCC show, and ended up being done at home after the weekend, where I was able to be present due to Lee's gracious hospitality. The results simply blew me away! Lee was very kind to me with this commission and I value the art tremendously and his friendship even more. Thanks Lee!

This Weeks piece is pure power as it is too much for the frail body of Banner and the rage has to be expressed properly through the monstrosity we want to be!

Thanks Marcus - the power just jumps off the page even more in person.

This is flat out INCREDIBLE Dave! You know how much of a Lee Weeks fan I am so I'm likely biased but this may be my favorite of your commissioned pieces in your all too amazing collection. Love it.

Great image of the Hulk, which goes without saying, but I really love how Weeks conveys the suffering of Banner in this piece.  When I look at it, I keep getting drawn back to Bruce's face and the pain he's in.  Very powerful.

Thanks Michael! I agree and the Hulk's face is showing the pain equally as well. Such a strong focal point(s).

Whoa, Dave! This is one of the nicest commissions I have seen from Lee. Seems he was inspired. I love the contrast between puny Banner and the XXL Hulk.

Thanks Chris,  I believe you are right. I  am fairly confident Lee spent more time on this than most commissions that weekend.

Dave this is absolutely incredible - and what a perfect rendering of the dichotomy of Bruce and the Hulk. Weeks really brought his talent to this piece. Well worth the wait! Congrats!

Thanks Eric - I love the contrast in Banner and Hulk as well, in addition the shared pain they both show. I reworded the description as it sounded like I had to wait 10 years, which I didn't. Appreciate the comment my friend!

Such a solid illustration. JUST NOT CLEAR WHY HE'S ALWAYS YELLING!!! Weeks is a master and this image is just pure adrenaline. Congrats!

Perfect and gorgeous. I especially like how he faded the legs behind banner. Almost cover quality, imo. You have a good (and talented) friend in Mr Weeks. I've always dug his work. Big congrats!

Lee's so good.  He brings the essence of the characters into his pieces so well...like here!  IMO when it comes to comic art, it's hard to top transformation images!  Congrats, Dave!

Very impressive commission piece. I like how Lee draws a tortured Banner, like he's trying to get out of his own skin.
