Belated happy birthday to Sal Buscema! I meant to post this on Sal’s birthday but life got in the way. This is a page from my favorite artist (Sal) and from my first and favorite Hulk issue. Gorgeous Klaus Janson inks on this issue were especially impressive over Sal’s pencils. These pages are hard to find and I was thrilled when I was able to convince the previous owner that this belonged in my collection many years ago (and after years of trying). This issue is jam packed with nostalgia for me and completely captured the imagination of my younger self when I pulled this issue off the spinner rack all those years ago. This story started an arc that eventually crossed over into Captain America and is the sweet spot for my Sal Buscema art quest.
