DescriptionThis is my 6th Chris Stevens piece (not including various penciled art pieces) and I love each and every one - see below for each piece.I "met" Chris virtually more than 15 years ago on the statueforum.com website's small and growing art forum. I have seen him grow as an artist doing commissions on the forum into a full blown cover artist. When I heard he was on the guest list at OAX, I was thrilled to finally meet him in person. As were talking, I grabbed a sticker (see pics) of the Hulk, and the first page I flipped in his portfolio was the art to the sticker which I eagerly snapped up. Below are my pieces from Chris in order of acquisition. It is fun to see how his art has evolved through the years. 1st piece - pencil and ink 2nd piece - wash/markers 3rd piece - wash/markers with a dash of color 4th piece - oil painting 5th piece - cover art in colors, pencils and more Social/Sharing |

Wow! Wow!
I love the look of the Hulk here. And the colors are unique. Congrats on another stellar Hullk piece of art.

The image doesn't do this piece justice, such an incredible piece of artwork. Chris really outdid himself with this one.

Thanks gammabro! You are so right about that. This picture does a terrible disservice in how amazing this is in person.

Sharp and terrifying stare! You can feel the full rage built up hitting a red line and taking over! This is what Mr. McGee wouldn't like.

Very cool! I'm not too familiar with Chris Stevens, but that Hulk is great!

Thanks! He's a modern cover specialist but has an old school vibe in his art.

Beautiful piece to see in person. The scan while great just doesn't do the colors justice. Congrats Dave!

Thanks Josh! Agreed - the scan doesn't do it justice because my picture is really bad. I will get a proper scan up soon.

So incredibly happy I got to see this in person. It has a huge impact just like the subject! I commissioned Chris back in the Statue Forum days too and it's jaw dropping how he has evolved in that time.
Suffice to say, this baby is where it belongs!

Ooh this one is perfect! That reddish bit could indicate so many things. The glow of a rising sun to his left... a nod to Red Hulk ... the beginning of a blush because Hulk realizes he forgot to put clothes on ... and then realizes he has no body to put clothes ON. But seriously, this is a stellar piece. Congrats!

This is amazing! So glad I got to see it in person. I foolishly did not ge the opportunity to meet Chris in person at the show. The one time I looked for him I didn't see him.

OMG! What an amazing painting from Chris Stevens! I've always admired Chris' phenomenal talent, and this is a prime example of why! The power of the Hulk is clearly shown in just his face. The narrowing of the eyes, the baring of the teeth, the lines across his forehead, all signal this is a powerful being! Love the colors too, with the bright yellow and orange of the light from the right contrasting with Hulk's own natural green. Just a fantastic OAX pick-up, congrats!

I was lucky enough to see this one in person at OAX and it's unreal! Definitely in the right collection. Grimacing expression as per usual with the big guy here, and SO many hues of green on this zoomed in headshot. That orange-ish lighting coming from his left is a nice touch - Stevens just showing out on his command o' color :) Congrats, bud!

Ah yes... when someone cuts you off in traffic, and you pull up next to them to yell at them at the stoplight... and see this guy looking back at you. Wave politely... and floor it! Just a fantastic commission!
