DescriptionGodzilla shrunken down to the size of a rodent by S.H.I.E.L.D.? Escaped into the sewers of NYC? Facing off against a gnarly rat? OMG YES PLEASE! Herb Trimpe's Godzilla and Shogun Warriors runs are firmly cemented in my prime Marvel spinner rack nostalgia phase and this issue was particularly memorable due to the odd nature of the story - it really worked for this youngster and the cover had me at first sight when I saw it as I spun the spinner rack at the local drug store. This page is chock full of great images from the end of the Godzilla vs Rat battle sequence, with Godzilla looking to emerge from the sewers into the New York streets. It took forever to land a Godzilla page and thrilled to add another. I don't know if the itch is fully scratched (a splashy page would be nice), but this sure does the trick today. Now to track down a Shogun page! Published page added in additional images. Stomp if you love Godzilla!! Fun page. Notice how the artist cuts off Godzilla in every panel suggesting that he is so big he can't be contained by any panel.

Stomp!
Great observation! Even at the tiny size, he is still too large for any sewer to contain him!

This probably inspired a lot of kids to want their own pet lizard! Really cool that Godzilla belches out a primal victory scream!

A Godzilla and Shogun page quest? I can 100% back this! All the fun of being a kid in the late 70s. I need to go fill up a Marvel Slurpee cup and stare at this fine page a little longer. Congrats!

Bring on MAZINGA!!! Even at pint size, Godzilla is not one to be reckoned with, as the rat found out. Good luck with your Shogun aquisition

I remember them using a similar story in the 70's cartoon version on TV. S02E02. Awesome.

I am sure one inspired the other - they were around the same time. Good catch!

Dave, Congrats on an amazing piece !
We all know how tough these are to find and somehow you've scored two !
This page screams 70s nostalgia and is another fine addition to your incredible collection.

Fantastic page! Love the tiny Godzilla trying to figure out how to survive in a world that's bigger than him. Great work by Trimpe and Green!

I would not be surprised if this is what goes on in the New York City sewers on a regular basis. Awesome page!
