DescriptionPicked this beaut up from Humberto and dealer Joseph Damon at the recent Wondercon! From issue 8, his third cover/interior work, of the series. Cardiac (yes, Cardiac) really looks menacing here after laying a smackdown on the Superior Spider-Man. I love when these older (by "older" I’m thinking ‘90’s in this example) more marginal characters are used in new ways by today’s writers and artists. Cardiac was a notable part of the Michelinie/Bagley ASM run so this piece does take me back to those early teenage years reading those books.And what can you say about Humberto – he’s one of my absolute favorite artists, particularly on my favorite character here. I remember him doing covers for Peter Parker Spider-Man back in the day, then getting to do interiors on the Return of the Goblin arc in issues 44-47. His work was original and unique, exaggerated and energetic, especially his Goblin design – I loved it. Now glad to own this sweet cover by one of the most talented and hard working fellows in the biz! Social/Sharing |

I gotta say....Humberto draws a great Spider-Man. Nice pick-up.

Oh man, how did I miss this one?!? I am a HUGE fan of Cardiac, ever since his first appearance (as Cardiac) in ASM #344! I love the look that Ramos has created for this character.
