DescriptionPrized piece here. I picked this up directly from Chris after some e-mail back and forth. To me, Chris has done some of the best Spider-Man work out there for having such a limited sample (he’s only done 10 issues of ASM), and in this particular storyline, he just killed it. I asked him about a few particular pages, which he ended up not having, but then he mentioned he still had this DPS and might be willing to sell it – I, of course, jumped at the chance! Picked up this piece as well as a nice Iceman splash from Wolvie & the X-Men.Chris just draws a great Spidey (my favorite character), and his redesign of the Lizard (one of my fave villains) for the Shed arc was awesome. In this piece you’ve got multiple images of the 2 facing off in different action poses – what more can you ask for. And let’s not forget a great ink job by Mr. Jaime Mendoza. Zeb Wells and Chris, in my opinion, hit the ball out of the park with this story and I’m just glad to own such a great piece from it. Enjoy! Social/Sharing |

You have an amazing piece of art here. I remember Bachalo's redesign of the Lizard and how much I liked it. In general, Chris's work on ASM was fresh and exciting. Congratulations!

This scene is ridiculous, such good Spidey action! Makes me want to reread Shed, which would make for a great artists edition!

This, also classic. Love Townsend on Bachalo, but Mendoza gets it pretty darned close. And when you see his inking over Doug Mahnke, you can really see the guy's range. And what a sense of momentum, just from the layout! Such a nice spread.

Totally agree, Ellis. Bachalo and Townsend are a killer combo but Mendoza is right there. Both inkers did an awesome job on this ASM arc and I'm glad to have a piece from both inkers from it! Thank for the comment!

Thanks for the flattering comments, Jason, on this piece and my collection. Not hard to figure why this might be your favorite (it’s up there for me!) as I loved Bachalo’s unique take on Spidey and the Lizard and this is a prime example!

Okay - yeah, yeah - I know - I JUST went and left a comment on another of your outstanding Bachalo DPS-es (your Sentinel spread from UXM #1) and (rightfully, I believe) gushed over how great it is, but just for the record - just so I'm clear - nothing touches this one. :)
Still may be my very favorite in your incredible collection of artwork, sir.

What an absolute stunner. Bachalo redefined the Lizard in a way that everyone who came after had to reckon with. All future Lizards will be in conversation with this one. A dream for any Spidey or Bachalo fan (and who doesn't love both of those things?).

Killer piece! 4x the action without panel borders breaking up one great piece of art. Great story telling. So much black, and yet nothing gets lost.
