DescriptionMy first Stegman DPS picked up from Ryan and Paolo at Cadence Comic Art – a beauty to say the least! I remember seeing this image in the solicitations for the upcoming Superior Spider-Man arc and thinking “WOW!” My gallery will tell you I'm a big Ryan Stegman fan so was naturally pretty stoked when I saw he was going to be working on an arc featuring Spider-Man 2099 – one of the best costume designs out there in my opinion.I’d say Ryan’s work in this arc has been some of the best done on the character. Love the texturing he added to the red parts of the costume. With this piece you’ve got a nice DPS of the hero in a dynamic pose as well as some panels, including him going up against a T-Rex! John Livesay’s inks make it pop that much more – he’s done some nice work with Ryan throughout the entire arc. What’s funny is if you look at the published piece you’ll see the red forearm talons were accidentally colored blue vs. red – small mishap after the fact but clearly doesn’t take away from the published image. Fantastic dps, Ryan's work is incredible and the Spidey 2099 costume is one of my favs.

Thanks! I may be biased when it comes to Spidey but there have been so many great spider costume designs over the years and 2099 is right at the top! So unique but still clearly Spider-Man. Still love this piece - my first and only Stegman DPS, at least so far :) He really did kill it with this big intro shot in the arc and Livesay's inks? Oh so dark!
