DescriptionI enjoy Bachalo’s work a lot, and I have some nice pieces, but I didn’t have one yet prominently featuring a female character. So, when I saw this flipping through inker Mark Irwin’s pages at Phoenix Comic Fest this year, I jumped at it!The highlight here is clearly splashy panel 2 and, to a lesser extent, panel 5. There are a lot of times that Bachalo’s characters have that closed eye look and I like it in panel 2 with the Scarlet Witch’s head tilted down and to the left. Love the intricacies of the costume and weaponry no doubt enhanced by Irwin. Also, it’s cool how, from the torso up, the costume is more lighted and from the torso down you’ve got the dark blacks on the legs and cape. Lastly, the panel 5 head shot really closes this out as a sweet overall page. This time, eyes open and looking to the side, and it’s so distinctly Bachalo – cartoony yet fetching.
