Description1st of my last 2 Panther posts of 2020…I think!For me, just a fun page with the Avengers Big 3 of Thor, Iron Man, and Cap giving T’Challa the news that he’s been unanimously voted as new Avengers Chairperson. Gotta love how proper T’Challa often is, including here in his response (see published image). That regal thing. Fair question he has, too, regarding his being king of Wakanda AND leader of the Avengers. “OK, if it’s alright with you guys…” :) Art-wise got rare smiling profile shots of the Big 3 as well as a great full shot of T’Challa. I dig Marquez’s brush work there – a scratchy, organic feel. Last panel is neat too in that it was fully blacked in first then Marquez drew over in white to get the lighted opening door effect. As Iron Man points out, when it comes to a group of heroes that is often in conflict with each other, it's so nice to see the Big Three come together as one (and so joyfully) to honor Black Panther in this way. And Thor cracks me up with his "The God of Thunder will never again eat the toast of France." Took me a second to figure out he meant French Toast. LOVE that last panel.

I love the trick of floating the Black Panther above the panels as he accepts. It's a simple thing, but the accentuation while T'Challa is named chairman supports the moment so well. Cool page. Congrats!

Superb page (and I'm always a fan of the Kirby striped gloves and boots for the Panther :) ). And as much of a treat it is to have the Big Three all smiling in the same panel (in character, too), that image of the Panther is absolutely the focal point, the obvious recipient of Marquez's artistic focus and intent on the page. A really great non-digital page by David, too, and confirmation he doesn't need a computer to acheive that striking effect in that incredible last panel (also underscoring the doors opening on a new age for the Avengers - "...new leadership. For a new age," says Cap). Love the page! Great pick up - Congrats, man!

Yup, gotta love the classic striped gloves and boots on BP. The Kirby square claws are fun, too :) Great comments, Jason, as per usual. As you say BP is the focal point and J H also notes the subtle effectiveness of him crossing/standing in front of 3 panels. Marquez does a lot of his work digitally, but yeah, he's MEAN with that pen and brush on board when he wants to be. I missed the doors opening underscoring a new beginning for Earth's Mightiest Heroes! I'm thinking the future looks bright (or as much as it can be for the Avengers) with BP at the helm!

Yeah, man, it is pretty cool. Panel completely inked in black THEN drawn over in white. Nice emerging light effect in the figure outlines and spatter. And like Jason says, it visually highlights the dawn of a new Avengers era as led by my man T’Challa :) Thanks for the comments as always on the new BP adds, Son of David!

I come back to look at this page every few days, so I figured I should at least memorialize this obsession with a comment. That last panel......it doesn't get any better.

Hey, thanks, Kevin! Glad you like the page as much as you do...and I do :) I love the variety of the page, from the overall storytelling flow, to the full figure BP, AND of course that last panel. Figuratively and literally opening the door to a new era of the Avengers in a uniquely cool artistic way!
