DescriptionIt’s Doom’s Day! One of 2 pieces I’m posting today featuring the monarch of Latveria, this one being my first ever by Declan Shalvey by way of Cadence Comic Art!The annual this page is from, written by Chip Zdarsky, was a really fun read centering around Doom. Here the prime Marvel universe Doom, in his Infamous Iron Man guise, is facing off against a Doom from another reality who has just killed that reality’s Mister Fantastic. A cool scene with these 2 Dooms facing off and the verbal jabs they end up throwing back and forth. And I love how this alternate reality Doom nonchalantly asks “Is this correct? You’ve traveled universes, encountering Doom after Doom?” Like he’s not surprised at ALL that Doom, whatever Doom that may be, has accomplished such a feat :) Marvel Two-in-One is the Thing’s book but this is all about the Dooms. I liked the head shots of the more traditional looking Doom as well as that splashier image of the Infamous look, which is a variation of Iron Man’s Model Prime armor. Just felt the royal arrogance of Doom when looking at this page. These 2 end up de-armoring and having a good ol’ fashioned stick fight for the life of Ben, who the prime Doom is allying with. Or allying with to the extent that Victor could ally with Ben :) Thanks for looking! Social/Sharing |

Two Dooms wrapping The Thing up like a pretzel?! Nah, Aunt Petunia's favourite nephew would squash them both like they were empty tin cans!

What's better than Doctor Doom? TWO Doctor Dooms. I love story lines like this that pit different versions of a hero or villain against each other. And with Doom, you know yer always gonna be treated to some very intriguing (albeit arrogant) dialogue. Really love the clean lines on this piece.

Eggzzactly, Paul! Comic-wise I think it's hard to top, both in terms of visuals AND dialogue, 2 Dooms! Let the arrogance OOZE :) And yup, some clean lines here fo sho. I think Shalvey can be hit or miss depending on the piece, but when the former, he really can go yard! Thanks, man, and all, for the comments!

Oooh, yes, for sure. I was late to the party on MK but later read that first 6 issue arc in trade - GREAT stuff. And issue 5 where he works his way up a building, uniquely taking out dudes along the way?! Outstanding. OK. As I'm writing this I may go need to find a page or 2. Thanks for the add, Steve, and the reminder, too, LOL!

'Whatta revolting' development...' You know that's what Ben is thinking. Either that, or that he would even prefer to be on Yancy Street getting a garbage can dropped on his head. I love two Dooms bickering. It makes so much sense that he'd argue with himself. Arrogance, thy name is Victor. Great page, Kahlil! Congrats!

That final panel is money!
I actually have page 9 of this issue and had a tough time deciding whether to pick up page 8 or 9. It's one of my favorite pieces. I've been meaning to post it, but my phone scanner just doesn't do it justice. Shalvey's detail is amazing.
