DescriptionWrapping up this Native American Heritage Month of November with this last indigenous OA post – again, my man Red Wolf! Last week I posted a cover from the series, and here, a couple interior pages by series artist Dalibor Talajic. Dalibor makes my 21st new artist add to the collection in ’23.These 2 pages aren’t back-to-back pages but are both from issue 6 (last of the series) and are my 2 favorites from the run. So thought I’d just post them together here – some storytelling in the first then the splash in second. In the former, we see the kinship that Red has with the wolves, them functioning here as the calvary in helping him and his companion take out the bad guys. Love that layout up top with the head shot panels sort of floating above the wolves bearing down in the background. Then attacking in the middle of the page, then those final 2 panels. The capper. Head shots of Red and a wolf with the same eyes. See published in additional images for the colors. And the second piece, the final page from the series. I loved the wording placed here with the image, as it’s the big bad of the series speaking. She has grand plans to take over this town as the central drug hub for her organization, but it’s clear THIS dude’s gonna be a problem, throwing a legit hitch in that program. Also, the page just reminded me of my son :) He rocks the Native long hair. Thanks for lookin’! Social/Sharing |

Cool DPS! And remember, the DPS is the rarest of all pages, all comics have a cover and not all have a DPS!

For all the lines that you pencilled in the grain
And all wolf cubs you get in using that shade
You think you wrote with art, Dalibor Talajic
You think I'm howling at the moon, well, I ain't
And I didn't wanna write a song
'Cause I didn't want anyone thinkin' I'm still scared, I'm not, but
You still hit full moon up
And baby, I'll be huntin' on
And I think you should be Cheyenne I don't wanna hound back
Maybe you should know pack
Suveyor don't like you cause she strikes everyone
And Rattler like to submit that I was wrong
And I've been so caught up fang and jaw
Didn't see what's wolfen on, but now I know
I'm better hounding not alone
'Cause if you like the way he looks that much
Oh, KG, you should go and love Red Wolf
And if you think that I'm still pack of dogs to huntin'
You should go and love Red Wolf

Thi is the second JB jam, after you using for my Peach add! Both bangers, the songs as well as your versions! Dude...you brought in more elements of the story that I mentioned in Rattler and Surveyor...leveling up, my man, whew. And of course the clever wordplay, bringing "Cheyenne" in. You da man! Thanks Marcus, and all, for the comments!

Kahlil, I'm with my man FM, that bottom 4-panel sequence on page 14 is the standout here!

We've got everything want in these two pages -- high drama and tranquility.

I really enjoyed this series too. I scored a nice page from it too. I liked the added touch of his new ability. I don't think it showed up again after this series. Anyway, awesome pages!

Yeah, this was it for the book. Afraid that's how it goes these days...not much time or opportunity for a book to get legs. But we got the one arc, and Red did show up later in other books. Here's to seeing him more at some point soon! And I'm pretty sure I know what page you picked up :) Thanks, Bo, glad you like!

The pages might not be sequential, but they work great together as a pair. I love the visual story telling and panel compositons going on. The terrified reactions of the bad guys to the wolves running in the background is a great way to superimpose those two things happening at once. And yeah, the last two panels with the matching eyes ... so cool! Great final splash page too where all is as it should be. Congrats on another wonderful Native American Heritage post!

Thanks, man, totally agree regarding the superimposition! Not sure if I've ever used that word before, lol. Glad you like this piece as well as some of the others I've posted for Native Heritage Month! Appreciate the comments!

Come on, guys, we're exhausted. I think we should take the bikes back to the hotel, put them in a shed with the doors closed, and then play Scrabble in the room with the shades down.
