It's a Gas Price War!! Woo Hoo! I am actually old enough to remember these wars, but not as far back as the date on this strip -- December 16, 1955. Gotta love those prices!!

Those gas wars persisted for years after this lovely strip was published. One of my first jobs--my early teen years--was working at a gas station. They were still doing gas wars (the lowest we dropped? Twenty-five cents a gallon. Not so far from the Abbie An' Slats days).
