DescriptionI don’t buy non-published artwork very often these days but there are exceptions…like this one…it just CALLED to me :) Black Panther (BP) fan, y’know. I hesitated initially because it was a little smaller, at 9x12, and I wasn’t 100% sure how nice it would look in person. Now that I have it in hand, I’m super affirmed with the decision – it’s killer. Looks better in person and I’ve pored over it a lot!A ton of intricate work packed into a small area! First, the pose is perfect – a lean, mean, hunting machine. I don’t envy who or whatever BP’s scouting from the rooftops. Second, the use of media is outstanding. A combo of ink, paint, and pencil. The black areas of the costume are so dark and make the white highlights really pop with a glinty effect. Those highlights are subtle but add a real 3D feel against the black costume backdrop. Awesome stuff. I’m not familiar with this slightly different version of the costume, or if Dell’Otto designed it, but it works! Lastly, I got the Dell’Otto BP itch scratched. I had a chance last year to pick up the variant cover he did for BP #1 with BP facing off against Doctor Doom – just a beautiful piece. It was pricey, and I passed. I don’t regret it, per se, but think about it sometimes. Now, I can think about it a lot less as I got my Panther piece by Dell’Otto, and just a little more affordably ;) Thanks, Francesco Bazzana, at tavoleoriginali.net, for the smooth transaction! The way he handles the black on that costume...

Dell'Otto always packs an powerful punch with his creations, and this Black Panther just wants to spring off the page. Love all those whites surrounding his black costume.

That’s right Paul - look out below! And the whites against the black...definitely what makes the piece. And I’d say many of you agree based on the comments so far! Thanks, all!

so simple yet stunning
There is some element of that, huh?! I'm not sure if simple is the right word or it's just that Dell'Otto makes the difficult/complex look easy! In any case, I agree, stunning :) Thanks, Leonard!

Dell'Otto is THE artist to bring out the best of any character he's commissioned to illustrate. His rendition brings out the best in BP's claws and all the details of his suit. This is genuinely stunning work to include in your wonderful collection.

Now you're just TRYING to make us jealous! Seriously though, FANTASTIC! Maybe he should do a BP series!

Finally time to tell you what I think. Wowwwwww!!! Listen Gabrielle is the one to go for the intricate detail on your favorite character. I hear your concerns about smaller size but in the hands of a master you see how down and dirty the artist can get in confined space. B Panther looks like an absolute handful. Dell' Otto simply kills it here. As sweet as a Steph Curry 45 ft 3 Pt. Swish bomb. More lethal then a Barry Sanders hip check leg breaking six broken tackles 80 yard touchdown run. More powerful then a Private tour of Michelangelo's Cistine Chapel. Uhhh ok probably getting carried away. I love the art. The BP always a powerful symbol, an idea of justice and integrity since my 70's childhood. You have a standout piece in a gallery of knockout art. Cheers K!

Thanks for the great comments, Mike! Yeah, man, this one is killer in person. I still look at it a lot. It's smaller, but that actually almost makes me more impressed in terms of how much goodness Dell'Otto was able to pack in to it! Barry Sanders hip check - love that! My favorite football player of all time is Walter Payton but I was just a little kid during his heyday. Barry came later and I LOVED that cat (pun intended). How bout Nadal running bolo forehard up the line?! Like the point too on BP as a justice and integrity symbol - couldn't agree more. Thanks again, bud!
