DescriptionIn this issue, Wolverine goes mano a mano against Lady Deathstrike. The artwork as you can see is Smith at his best and the logo is hand drawn.I have to thank Hans Kosenkranius for letting me be the custodian of this. It's a cover that i've always admired from afar and am really happy to have in my collection. Social/Sharing |

It's about time you got a scanner. Lol. BWS' attention to detail never disappoints so it's no surprise that he drew the logo by hand as to not obscure his art. This cover is bad ass and BWS knew it when he finished. Great addition Joe. Cheers! N.

One of my all-time favorite covers. I left numerous comments on Hans' page - I just love this cover that much. When Hans told me that he sold it, I could not believe it. I've wondered who was the fortunate recipient for some time now. Now that I know it's you, Joe, I could not be happier. You deserve it, my friend. Congratulations!! Now that I've gotten all that out of the way...

I'm really amazed by this cover and even by the fact that Hans has left its 'custody', but definitely to an equally worthy custodian... Huge congrats!

Just when I think it is safe to look at your gallery again, you go and post something like this. Now I have to go find someone with jumper cables so that I can go and jump start my brain. Truly magnificent. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Congratulations my friend!

Let's face it. Even within the confines of your "all killer, no filler" collection, this stands out as being a truly phenomenal piece. It's ones like this that make me periodically visit your gallery, turn to the heavens and scream "WHY?!?!?!?!?", and then sob softly to myself until my wife closes my MacBook for me and tells me it's time to go to bed. So basically, congrats on an incredible piece that evokes many childhood memories for me, as I bought this issue brand new off the stands when it came out, and it introduced me to the wonderful world that is beautiful Barry Windsor-Smith artwork.

Barry Windsor Smith's produced just a handful of books between machine man and Weapon X when he returned to comics in the 1980's but the impact of those were tremendously influential. I think this is one of the best Wolverine yarns ever. His storytelling and artwork were far ahead of it's time and still looks relevant today. This is by far my favorite cover by BWS. It''s really a perfect representation of his style at the time and I think it holds up as some of his strongest work.

What a knockout cover! BWS did his best comic work on this series, IMHO, and this cover is as good as it gets

There are many amazing pieces in your collection that are painful to look at, but for me this is the one that crushes my soul a little bit more every time I see it. Despite that, I check back often.

For me, this is the best BWS cover ever! He was at his artistic peak then and while there are quite a few BWS Weapon X pieces, finding one with his mask on makes this my all time favorite.

Geez - how did I not comment on this amazing art - not sure when BWS decided he wanted to challenge Kirby on machinery but he went all out here!

This was the cover of the first comic I ever purchased. I could not believe this stuff existed. My mom purchased this for me and my brother in a Marvel three pack. BWS was just incredible in this issue and this cover is forever burned into my memories. Thanks for sharing this and Congrats!

In high school, there was a guy who would draw mazes that filled 24 x 26 inch poster boards with paths that were about an 1/8 inch wide. Somehow, I think he and BWS would have worked well together. This cover is breathtaking.
