DescriptionSo anyway thought Id comment on this again cause now I have lost Patience.Since paying him up front for these pieces for about 2 Years and 2 extra pieces. I'd like to give some info before some one has the same Issues. Around two years back i cam across another collector who had the same Issue almost and wrote on CAF about how she was completely ripped off by him . I still have the article on email. Now after much thought I decided to email Mr Garza to enquire about this and what happened ect as i was not willing to take the risk. He did give me some answers on what happened and said it would not ever happen again so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and gave the opportunity to put things right and did mention i would tell people hes changed. Unfortunately to me he has NOT. I have been seriously patient with this and waiting two years after being promised a few months is a complete lie as I'm still waiting I recently asked him whats going on and his response is he will see if he can send it out this week. I very much doubt it. I'm not sure if this how he treats his fans in the USA but me being International could be hes taking complete advantage and Ive had enough of the excuses and empty promises. So my suggestion to anyone that reads this keep your money don't support someone that does not appreciate or have any decent amount of respect for his Fans by doing something like this. Please note this is a WARNING you may not get your stuff . I have been in contact with a few other USA collectors who are having the same problem with him. I would really like to hear what peoples opinions are with this. If anyone wants hard proof of this I have it so no one can say I'm making this up. I also did email him giving him notice if nothing is sent in a few days I will put this up so I think that was more than fair . Social/Sharing |

I am also not based in the US and have been waiting two years for my Commision. This is not great customer service and people should be made aware that he asks for payment upfront and then doesnt keep promises. He is giving Comic artists a bad rep as people will be reluctant to pay upfront if the art is never delivered. At the moment I feel like my money has been stolen and I do not think I will ever see my Commision.

Ale does do that - I have a few pieces from him and he game me the same assurances he gave you. But he did complete the work he promised me and sent it. The problem is Ale is a working artist and he has deadlines he has to meet. So maybe he shouldn't have promised such a quick turnaround - and should do that with all his fans that he promises commissions to. My advise is to bug his art agent Michael Alexander - he'll help you out.
And to play Devil's advocate - I've waited years for some pre-paid commissions and I understand that these artists have deadlines and personal lives they have commitments to as well. So while Ale may have bit off a bit more than he can chew - I think if we all posted complaints about artist broken deadlines/promises - there'd be 50/50 art and complaints posted on CAF. So please continue to be patient

Hey Mike, Thanks for your comment. I do get what you saying and yes I agree artists to get busy have dead lines and cons ect. It is also why Ive been quite patient. Unfortunately there were at times some of the reasons I got I just didn't feel they were appropriate for some one who's on a hectic schedule.

After making me pay upfront for them It is quite a knock on expenses being international with the exchange rate so it could've at least been an agreement on 50/50.He is an amazing artist and his work is great. But I'm not the only one who has had this problem so he should at least make people pay 50/50. Some of the art pieces Ive bought from other artists with heaver dead lines haven't nearly taken this long. I did contact his agent about a year ago and yeah, Guess the extra year with out receiving the pieces goes to show. If your prepared to wait then that's great but at least you knew if you didn't I would never have taken the chance. I feel it fair that if other people are thinking of purchasing commissions, They should know there is a chance of a really long waiting period after paying upfront. For me personally after what has been done. IMy patients level is at its limit.

Well, at least is seems like this guy actually responded to your e-mails. I had a bad experience with an artist that is well represented on CAF. He didn't even respond to my e-mails. Every couple months I would send a short e-mail about my drawings. Not one response. Even a "sorry, I didn't for get about you" would have been nice. After a couple years, I received the art from a third party who said if I was at Comic-Con, I could have picked them up. Really?? I was supposed to go to Comic-Con to get my commissions??

Man that's terrible although I still think we have the right to know who the artists are that can take ages or did what they did to you.

I have been waiting over a year and a half for my commission. I keep getting the same empty promises. I realise he is a working artist. If he is so busy he should stop taking on commissions. I have received art from many other working artists with little to no problem.

So anyway here is a new Update for anyone that is wanting to get Ale Garza commissions of Sketches out of Cons. Please be aware you will most likely not get them even after he asks for payment upfront REFUSE to pay. I have waited around 2 Years 6 Months so soon 3. I have asked him many times but still excuse after excuse. Please note anyone wanting to order online DO NOT from experience I dont wish this open other collectors stay away unless you can get it directly from a con there and there.

So I thought I would put an update on here. I still have not received my artwork that I have already paid for. All I get is empty excuses. This just goes to show he really does not give a F about his fans as he couldn't be bothered to actually make the effort to to the work that he has already been paid for , This will make it 3 years I have been waiting for my commissions. For all of those that are thinking about getting ANY work by Ale , DO NOT as you will never get it , All you will get is empty promises and excuses. Please take this as a warning in advance and order at your own Risk.

So new update : After receiving an email from Ale's "Wife" app all would be sorted but guess what fellow collectors still nothing almost 4 years and nothing but a let down and empty promises . My word of advice save yer money and dont bother. Spend it on an artist that actually looks after and appreciates his fans .
