DescriptionIron Man 120 [Cover Dated Mar 1979, On sale at newsstands Dec 1978] page #2, my Holy Grail of panel pages. When I first started collecting art, this was the page I had hoped to find. I initially found a similar page [page 6], but even though it was from the same issue, it still was not what for me was "THE PAGE". I am incredibly lucky and fortunate to now have it in my collection. As as small child reading the issue in my grade school during 'free reading time' just after lunch on a cold December 1978 day. I clearly remember the 3rd panel making an instant impact on me. I was too young to know what Alcoholism was and meant so the phrase "After All, I'm Drinking For Two Men" seemed perfectly logical and reasonable. Which of course it's not. This 3rd panel was referenced in TwoMorrows 2014's "American Comic Book Chronicles The 1970s" page 257 ; "By Iron Man #120 (March 1979), Stark has begun to hit the bottle hard, downing at least four martinis on board an airplane, muttering to himself, “after all, I’m drinking for two men,” a coy allusion to his second life as Iron Man." Not for sale or trade, but I'm sure those who read this description already knew that :) Tony Stark makes you feel He's a cool exec with a heart of steel. As Iron Man, all jets ablaze, He's fighting and smiting with repulsor rays! Amazing armor! That's Iron Man! A blazing power! That's Iron Man! Social/Sharing |

Awesome page! Your story is a perfect depiction of what this hobby should be for everyone. Finding the most meaningful pages and, hopefully, acquiring them. This page has fantastic images of Tony, in and out of his Iron Man armor.

Agreed a key page for Iron Man and I would say bronze age Marvel in general . Great pick up!
